Welcome to The Child & Family Institute. We are an interdisciplinary behavioral health center and faculty practice for youth, specializing in integrated group and individual cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), neuropsychological assessment, and clinical psychopharmacology services for children, adolescents, and young adults. I'm Dr. Adam Weissman, New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, Trainer, Supervisor, and Consultant. I am the Founder & Executive Director of The Child & Family Institute (CFI), with two convenient locations in Scarsdale, NY (CFI-Scarsdale) and midtown Manhattan (CFI-Manhattan). I hope you will find this website a useful resource to learn more about CBT and the clinical and consultation services we provide to children, adolescents, families, young adults, mental health agencies, schools, and clinicians in the community. Trained by some of the world's leading experts in cognitive-behavioral therapy at the University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers, the NYU Child Study Center/Bellevue Hospital Center, and Harvard Medical School, I specialize in state-of-the art, evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment for a wide range of anxiety problems, including social shyness, separation anxiety, school refusal, generalized worry, phobias, perfectionism, OCD, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress, and selective mutism, as well as depressive disorders, ADHD and learning disorders, disruptive behavior problems, tic/habit disorders, high functioning autism spectrum disorders, and related conditions.

Founded in 2011, CFI is among the first private interdisciplinary CBT centers in the nation exclusively dedicated to youth mental health assessment, treatment, and advocacy. We have a highly skilled, sensitive, and spirited team of clinicians with some of the best training in the NY Metropolitan area. Our faculty and associate faculty hold clinical and academic appointments at top hospitals and universities, including Columbia University, New York Presbyterian Hospital, the NYU School of Medicine, the NYU Child Study Center, Albert Enstein College of Medicine/Yeshiva University, Duke University, and Harvard Medical School. Our integrated behavioral health services include comprensive individual and group CBT, clinical psychopharmacology, neuropsychological assessment, and a number of specialty treatment clinics, for youth of all ages. Our Pediatric Assessment Center (PAC) is directed by expert Pediatric Neuropsychologist, Dr. Lisa Fox, who brings her skills from Yeshiva University and NYU RUSK to both, our Manhattan and Westchester programs. Our SAMSS (Social Anxiety Mastery & Skills for Success) and Positive Parenting (P2) group CBT programs are co-directed by social anxiety/skills and parenting expert, Dr. Brittany Roslin, who brings her skills from Columbia University and the NYU Child Study Center, and Dr. Elana Dumont, who joins us from Yeshiva University/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Dumont is also the Clinical Director of our new Trauma-Focused CBT specialty clinic. Our Senior Consulting Psychiatrist, Dr. John DiLallo provides comprehensive Clinical Psychopharmacology Services to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families by way of the NYU Child Study Center and Harvard Medical School, and Dr. Andrea Roth, who completed her training at Yeshiva University/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, currently serves a dual role as CFI's Intake & Admin Director and Interim Clinical Director of our Konfident Kids Selective Mutism specialty clinic. Finally, please join us in welcoming the newest associate members of our team, 4th-year advanced doctoral student, Chelsey Rosen, M.S., from St. John's University, and 6th-year advanced doctoral student, Dina Gohar, M.A., previously trained at the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, and Harvard University. Please feel free to learn more about our doctors and graduate fellows by visiting the "Meet Our Doctors" page on this site, and of course, please feel free to contact us by phone or email with any questions or consultation needs, or to schedule an intake appointment with one of our talented CBT specialists.
